Despite the many styles and movements in 20th century art, from Minimalism to Dada to Abstract Expressionism, the realistic portrayal in the subject always was hovering within the shadows, an ever-present constant within the history of art. And as the 21th century begins, Realism is defined to maneuver for the forefront yet again. It is representational art that can bring the world around us on top of the canvas; it is just a language that even people who find themselves blind to art can appreciate.
Abstract art is a good supply of your students associated with Abstract art without worries of the result. San Diego artist and engineer Dave Ghilarducci worked alongside the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, SDSU, and CRMSE to development a unique and educative exhibit, disguised as being a sticky structure. This playground of tape appeared possible through the funding of the National Science Foundation. It’s purpose is usually to explore a variety of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) topics, including tensile strength, materials science, topology, membranes and structures. With translucent tape from floor to ceiling, Taping Shape brings visitors right into a colorful scene of wonder, all wrapped up into a structure of science.
